Ukraine War: Wounded British captured by Russians and marched on television | World News

An injured British man in military uniform was captured by Russian forces in Ukraine and paraded on television.

Named Andrew Hill, he was filmed with a bandaged left arm and a temporary bandage around his head.

Sky News understands that he is 35 years old.

He was filmed while being interrogated saying that he had traveled to Ukraine in his own way to help the country, Reuters reported.

Mr. Hill signaled to connect with the International Legion, a unit set up by the Ukrainian government for foreigners who want to fight to support the war effort.

When asked about his rank, the British national said: “I have no rank… I just know the foreign corps says I can help.”

The Russian Defense Ministry said that Britain had surrendered to Russian troops in the Mykolaiv region, southwestern Ukraine.

It is also the same area where a second British man, 36-year-old Scott Sibley, a former soldier, was killed a few days ago.

During filming, Mr. Hill said he was from Plymouth and had four children and a spouse.

Russian soldiers took his passport, he added.

Two other British men have also been detained by Russian forces in Ukraine.

Aiden Aslin, 28, and Shaun Pinner, 48, were arrested earlier this month while defending the southeastern city of Mariupol.
