Twitter down after Boosie called Jay-Z musically irrelevant

Less than a month after 21 Savage faced backlash for saying Nas was “not involved,” Boosie made the same comment about Jay-Z.

Boosie says it’s all about Jay’s Hustle—NOT his music

It all came crashing down during Boosie’s recent sit-down with VladTV. After DJ Vlad presented how he considers Jay-Z to be the “only” rapper over 50 that can still “stand with Lil Babys and Kendricks” in popularity, Boosie had a few things to say. .

Rapper Baton Rouge offered a different point of view unapologetically, as he said he didn’t think Hov was relevant in this musical era.

“Today Jay-Z is not suitable for music.”

He went on to refer to 21 Savage’s aforementioned comments about Nas, saying there’s no way Jay-Z would be involved in music if the “NY State of Mind” rapper wasn’t.

“If you want to say Jay-Z fits and Nas doesn’t, then no.”

Boosie explains his reasoning by sharing that he doesn’t see people liking Jay or Nas when he’s “out there”.

“When I go to these clubs in Atlanta, these 25 to 35 clubs, I don’t hear Nas, [and] I can’t hear ‘Jay-Z…I’m in the city. I am outside—I am everywhere.”

Then the “Wipe Me Down” rapper offered a different perspective, when he shared that Jay-Z is now more admired for the hustle and bustle of his business than his record list. he.

“Jay-Z is respected by these people because he is the boss. When Jay-Z flashed his ‘fuck, that’s something’ for a billion dollars. It’s something with 500 billion dollars, 200 billion dollars… It’s not a ‘smack talk’ song on social media. That’s his hustle!

He summed up his thoughts by simply saying that he just kept it to be true. Boosie also reiterated that he’s talking about relevance, not sales, after DJ Vlad continued to disagree with his stance.

“I didn’t say I heard Jay-Z in the club, and I didn’t hear Nas…Jay-Z wasn’t playing, and Nas wasn’t playing. I’m telling the truth, man. One is no better than the other in terms of relevance, as far as I’ve seen in clubs and s**t.”

Twitter is extremely supportive of Boosie

Understandably, Boosie’s comments quickly started going viral online and Twitter users joined the conversation.

The debate quickly turned into a battle between rappers — and most were on Boosie’s side.

Of course, there are some hip hop heads who staunchly disagree with Boosie’s remarks.

However, the vast majority of those who spoke on the issue rejected this position.

There are also some other topics that come up, such as how people should deal with holiday congestion rather than arguing over clubs.

Additionally, one user called on both sides to unite and take aim at another rapper: Eminem.

Some even suggested that the situation was an attempt for Boosie to win a collaboration with Jay-Z.

What do you think of Boosie’s comments and do you think he’s more “relevant” in music today than Jay-Z?
