There are so many fun, colourful nail trends out there at the moment, from lavender nails to Barbie nail designs and more. That being said, if you’re more of a minimalist, then you might be looking for something a little simpler to try this summer. If that’s the case, you’re in luck, as the latest trend to take over the internet is as chic as can be. Say hello to “tuxedo nails”.
When I first heard this term, I was really unsure (read: concerned) about what this nail design would look like. However, after doing some research, it’s safe to say that I’m into it. I came across the trend on Tom Bachik’s Instagram account. Bachik is a nail artist to the stars, and at the end of July he shared a picture of a tuxedo nail design which was inspired by one of his celebrity clients, Jennifer Lopez.
He posted a picture of a glossy black nail with a thick white French tip next to a picture of J.Lo posing in a black and white swimsuit, captioning the pic: “Nail Muse @jlo [heart emojis] Iconic Tuxedo #nails #nailsbytombachik”.
He later shared a picture of Camila Cabello wearing “French tuxedo nails”, in which half of the nail had a classic white French tip, and the other half was painted a glossy black shade.
