Trump cited leaks from the Manhattan district attorney’s office as “corrupt” and urged his supporters to protest on his behalf.
“TOP REPUBLIC AND EX-PRESIDENT PRESIDENTS OF THE USA, WILL BE CREATED ON TOURNAMENTS ON THIS DAY,” Trump wrote on his Truth Social website early Saturday morning. “Treason, BACK OUR COUNTRY!”
Grand jury heard testimony regarding a 2016 reimbursement to Stormy Daniels in the state Criminal Court in lower Manhattan, but there has been no public announcement about when or whether Trump will be indicted. Law enforcement agencies across New York have been security arrangements in the case of the former president being charged with a criminal offence.
Trump’s attorney Joseph Tacopina was not informed of the possibility of Trump’s arrest Tuesday.
