Former President Donald Trump has declared himself not a Swiftie.

Days after Taylor Swift endorsed Kamala Harris for president, the Republican presidential candidate expressed her distaste for the pop star — in capital letters.

“I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT!” Trump wrote in a Truth Social post on Sunday.

After the debate between Harris and Trump concluded on Tuesday night, Swift expressed her support for the Democratic vice president.

“She fights for rights and causes that I believe require a warrior to defend,” Swift wrote to her more than 280 million Instagram followers. “I think she’s a strong, capable leader and I believe we can accomplish so much more in this country if we are led by calm, not chaos.”

Swift said she decided to go public with her “true plans for this election as a voter” after she learned that Trump had been spreading misinformation suggesting he would win her vote.

Last month, Trump shared an AI-generated image of Swift dressed as Uncle Sam offering a fake endorsement for his campaign, along with other images promoting the idea that he had won over some of her fans. “I accept,” he said when he posted the images. He has since refuse know anything about the image

Swift’s past political endorsements and statements have a track record of promoting civic engagement. Swift first publicly stated her political views ahead of the 2018 midterm electionsspoke out in support of LGBTQIA rights and gender and racial equality, as her endorsement of two Tennessee congressional candidates prompted tens of thousands of people to register to vote.

Swift’s recent endorsement on Instagram drove more than 300,000 visits to the voter registration website Vote.gov, NPR reported.

While Swift may have had an influence, it’s unclear how much. ABC News/Ipsos poll released Sunday found that Swift’s endorsement had “little impact” on whether respondents were more likely to vote for Harris.

And celebrity endorsements come in handy too. counterproductive. Celebrities may attract all of a candidate’s attention, or their fans may not share their political views.

On Wednesday, the day after the debate, Trump brushed off Swift’s endorsement of Harris in an interview. on Fox News Fox and friends.

“I’m not a Taylor Swift fan,” Trump said.

“It’s just a matter of time. She can’t support Biden,” he added. “But she’s a very liberal person. She always seems to support a Democrat and she’ll probably pay for that in the market.”

That night, at the MTV Video Music Awards, Swift urges people to register to vote when he received the video of the year award after a fan vote.

“Please register to vote for something else that is also very important: our presidential election,” Swift said.
