Tropical Storm Nicole disrupted tourism: 2 Orlando airports closed
Just over a month later Hurricane Ian devastated areas of southwestern Florida, The area is gearing up for another major weather event. Tropical Storm Nicole is headed for the Bahamas and is expected to make landfall in eastern Florida on Wednesday night.
In preparation, two Orlando airports, including Orlando International Airport (MCO), announced closures on Wednesday. Orlando Airport announced Tuesday afternoon that it will be suspending commercial flights at 4 p.m. EST tomorrow, November 9, for an unspecified amount of time.

Additionally, Melbourne Orlando International Airport (MLB) will close at 2pm tomorrow; Airport officials announced in a press release.
“Specific details on reopening will be announced as more information becomes available,” according to the statement.
Other closures: Parts of Disney World and cruises
While Disney World began announcing specific resort closures ahead of Nicole on Tuesday earlier, those resorts appear to have been canceled so far.
Initially, the Orlando-based theme park said Disney’s Fort Wilderness Campground & Campground, Copper Creek Cabin at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge, Treehouse Mansion at Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa and Bungalows at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort will be closed from tomorrow until Friday, November 11.
However, at the end of Tuesday, it appears that only Walt Disney World Water Park and Miniature Golf locations will be temporarily closed on November 10. on their website.
Besides, at least three cruise lines rerouting the train in the Caribbean and Bahamas from their original destination of Florida.

The National Weather Service has issued a Tropical Storm Warning for Orange and Osceola counties, including Orlando. As of 4 p.m. Tuesday, the NWS predicts Nicole will advance to a hurricane tomorrow, moving westward toward the Bahamas at 10 mph, with sustained winds of 65 mph.

By Wednesday night at the latest, the NWS predicts Nicole will make landfall on the southeast and east-central coasts of Florida as a hurricane, and tropical storm status in Florida and Georgia will begin earlier in the day.
