Tristan Thompson has finally broken his silence since the sudden death of his mother Andrea in January. The basketball star took to Instagram on Sunday night to share his tribute.

Thompson shared a series of photos featuring various family members, Khloe Kardashian and his daughter True with his mother. In the post, he shared that it’s been a month since she passed away and he still “can’t believe it”.
Dearest Mother in Heaven,
It’s been a month since you left. I do not believe. I’m in the deepest part of sadness and grief
My soul went blank when I realized that my biggest supporter/superhero was gone. I can’t thank you enough for always being a woman of faith, one of God’s warriors, fighting against whatever the world throws in our path. You constantly protect us through prayer. My hero, you have fought all the battles you need and it’s time for you to go home.
Man, what I will not let to hear your voice. ‘God bless no one, no one can curse my son’. Mom, I know you’re looking down on me; I want to say thank you for choosing me as your son. You have dedicated your life to your boys and the church. Pray and fast for your family/friends because you know how evil this world is.
Thompson went on to say that his mother was “a wonderful mother, role model, best friend” and “the strongest woman” he knew.
Mom, all the sacrifices you have made for your son will never be recognized or appreciated. You are an amazing mother, role model, best friend and strongest woman I know.
The 31-year-old then went on to apologize to his late mother.
I know you are here as I write this letter. All I can say is, I’m sorry for the bad decisions I’ve made in my life. I apologize for the confusion and pain. You raised me better than I can show you. But I’ve also learned apologizing isn’t enough. Actions speak louder than words. So I won’t just say sorry. Stay tuned for the ways I will show the world how you raised a wonderful son. I will show you that even when we fall and make mistakes, we will get up. You are my motivation. Stand by me as I become the man I know you’ve always believed in. I promise to make you proud!
Thompson ended the memorial by assuring his mother that his younger brother Amari would always be taken care of. And ask her soul to be near him.
Mom, Amari will be taken care of. I would protect him, love him, and do anything in the world to make sure he was okay.
I know they say that time heals all but I don’t think this pain will ever go away. We had so many memories and more that I wanted to share with you. We will still share them but now from heaven. As tears roll down my face, all I can beg is to continue to be my light. Mom, you are my guardian angel and I will forever praise you. I love Mom. I can’t wait to see you and when I do, I’ll run up to you and give you the warmest hug and kiss. I promise to make you proud.

As The Shade Room previously reported, Andrea Thompson passed away last week from a heart attack at her home in early January. Thompson was taken to a local hospital, where medical professionals are said to have attempted to resuscitate her. Unfortunately, she didn’t make it.
