Trainor was Employee of the Year at the Stable Employee Awards
Paddy Trainor was awarded Employee of the Year 2022 at the Godolphin College and Stable Employee Awards on the evening of February 21.
A virtual ceremony, with £128,500 (US$174,647 in prize money divided among the winners with the support of event sponsor Godolphin, was held for its second year on Racing TV.
Trainor, an industry qualified coach, has been announced as the recipient of the Employee of the Year award and a prize of £10,000 ($13,593) in recognition of his 23 years of service to Johnston Racing.
The job rider also took home the Driver/Groom prize earlier in the evening, with another £10,000 to be split among his colleagues. Dan Skelton’s assistant coach Tom Messenger was also recognized for his leadership qualities.
Broadcaster and jury president, Nick Luck, said: “Paddy is a very deserving winner of Employee of the Year and all his colleagues at Johnston Racing will truly feel it. very proud tonight.
“It is an honor and pleasure to know the nominees for each category and selecting the winners from among them is an extremely difficult task, as all the nominees deserve it. get their moment in the limelight.”
British Horseracing Authority chief executive Julie Harrington added: “These awards are very special, not only because they illuminate the incredible achievement of racing staff at home and abroad but also, when recognized nominations, those individuals are rated as highly valued that they are appreciated by their peers.
“All of tonight’s nominees have gone to great lengths to make horse racing a better sport and for that we are all incredibly grateful.”
