Toyota says diesel engines are not dead and can be combined with hybrid technology


Diesel engines may still have a future at Toyota, at least in some markets.

In a recent interview with Australian publication DriveToyota Australia’s sales and marketing director said the diesel engine was “not going away anytime soon”, adding that it was still viable as part of a hybrid powertrain, “especially for luxury vehicles heavy”.
