Toyota Outrun 2023 Jan 13 – Run 10KM for RM50, all proceeds will go to National Cancer Society Malaysia

Athletes, this is a good deal. It just so happens that the race is Toyota’s, which I’m using as an excuse for this post.

Toyota Outrun 2023 will take place on January 13, 2023, which is about a month away. The run will start and end at Dataran Merdeka in KL. Usually, the actual route will only be released close to the event. Registration is now open and the deadline to apply is January 3. The race pack collection will be available at the Atria Shopping Gallery in Damansara Jaya, PJ, January 13-14.

So what’s the good deal? There are two categories – the 5KM fun run and the 10KM competitive run – and the 10K timed race entry fee is just RM50. That’s cheap by today’s standards and the benefits are well above the norm – you’ll get a Compressport running t-shirt, drawstring bag, finishing medal and a cap. The latter is unusual, a bonus. Medal hunters will love this one, it’s quite unique as it comes in black.

Choose from men’s and women’s open categories, Malaysia’s open catalog and the senior’s open catalog. The open categories are for those 18 and older, while those 46 and older will be in the premium category. The 5KM fun run is for anyone aged five and up. All 10KM categories will have cash prizes for first to 20th places, which is generous. The lucky draw has prizes worth more than RM9,000.

All that for RM50. And I haven’t mentioned the best part yet – all proceeds will go to the National Cancer Society Malaysia. Not just a fraction of the proceeds, but 100%. Toyota’s first Outrun event of 2019 was led by national Paralympic gold medalist Datuk Latif Romly and proceeds from the inaugural run went to the Malaysian Paralympic Council.
