Celebrity chef Tom Kerridge has said that the impact of the Omicron variant will have a catastrophic effect on the hospitality industry.
He told BBC Newsnight that some restaurants were closed over the Christmas period because staff contracted the coronavirus and guests canceled reservations.
Kerridge added 20-25% more revenue to many places in the hospitality sector that could come from December alone.
