Through the viral reaction to the chicken salad in business, Tanisha “Nisha” Godfrey changed the game for 81st Deli. Now, she’s also learning about how TikTok has changed her life.
The beloved TikTok thanked 81st Deli
Nisha’s video started appearing online in August and it simply shows her praising a meal from a favorite establishment. Specifically, she’s showing love for the chicken salad she ordered from 81st Deli, located on Superior Avenue in Cleveland, Ohio.
While enjoying her meal, Nisha frankly told viewers: “You’d better come up here and get one of these.”
Then she said the sentence that caught everyone’s attention.
“Issa chicken salad. From the 81st deli, Superior.”
When asked to share what’s in the chicken salad, Nisha happily let viewers know how she ordered it.
“I have chicken, pickles, banana peppers, bell peppers, tomatoes, onions.”

The upload was a huge success, and “Issa chicken salad” quickly became a widely used TikTok sound. In one sitting down with News 5 ClevelandNisha reacted to the hype surrounding the video.
“They say my voice is very pleasant, such as ‘Oh my god, I love you’, ‘I can’t stop watching this video,’ people are composing songs from this video. Very funny.”
Additionally, Wael Herbawi—the establishment’s owner—comments that TikTok delivers excellent business results.
“You couldn’t even walk in here yesterday… [People from] Chicago, Atlanta, California Las Vegas, New York, all over and all over Ohio.”
Nisha Godfrey reflects on the positive impact of video
Now, Nisha is talking about how her life has changed for the better thanks to the upload.
Nisha said Insiders that she was deeply moved after seeing all the love she received online.
“I would read the comments and get emotional because I thought, ‘These people love me.’ After that, I was so confused because I thought, ‘I’m just eating salad.’”
She also received warm praise from her daughter.
“It was like her eyes lit up, and she was like, ‘I’m so proud of you.’ It is genuine. She ‘s very happy. And it feels good.
On TikTok’s success, Nisha added: “It’s a win-win for both of us. They were able to make money, now I can win brand contracts.”
She’s struck a brand deal with weight watchers
Speaking of brand deals, Nisha specifically tied up with Weight Watchers to cook up a chicken salad recipe of her own.
“They contacted me and asked me to create a chicken salad recipe for their app. That is happiness. Even being in the home office with them, it doesn’t feel like work. I definitely enjoyed it.
In addition to creating a dish called “Chicken Nisha Salad,” the opportunity allowed her to visit New York City for the first time. She may also gain a new sense of financial security.
“I am working over and over again, and now I have extra income. It was a wonderful feeling. I’m so grateful.”
However, things weren’t quite so easy, and Nisha was booked up and busy!
“It’s not easy at all. I feel bad because my co-workers have to admit my fault even though they understand. After I leave my job, I may have to meet someone to do a podcast, or I may have to meet someone to create content. I probably get about three to four hours of sleep a day.”
She also took the opportunity to point out the “big name companies” that tried to put her down.
“I had a lot of big name companies contact me and they were just trying to play me. I’m still learning how to use TikTok… but I’m not stupid. When you say what you want to buy my audio and offer me 500 dollars, that’s the king’s problem.
However, in the end, Nisha is just here to do her thing and she hopes others can get a bag too!
“I want everyone to be blessed. There’s a lot of money here, and it’s enough for everyone.”
