Nintendo announced three Splatoon 3 amiibo will be released on November 11, 2022. A lottery for pre-orders on the new amiibo has been opened to Japanese residents. There are currently no pre-orders for international buyers. Each amiibo will cost 1,980 yen (about $13) or 5,940 yen ($40) for a pack containing all three. [Thanks, Famitsu!]
The three new amiibo characters are the yellow Octoling, the blue Inkling, and Smallfry. The announcement trailer for the amiibo indicates that each figure will allow the user to bring the characters into the game, as well as take pictures with them. Furthermore, end users will have access to amiibo-compatible outfits and gear once they’re released.

The announcement trailer tease some new cosmetics that will be available for each amiibo. Some of these appear to be post-apocalyptic leather dusters, a headgear piece with a herringbone in the player character’s mouth, and some string sandals. The others look similar to judogi and a headband, as well as a Mad MaxHelmets and armor sets modeled after the design of the Salmonids.

In addition to taking pictures, players can also store their loadouts and preferences on their amiibo. This gives players instant access to their loadout on other consoles by holding the amiibo next to the device.
