BSB . racer quote
Josh Brookes
“It was perfect, leading the championship after the first round was ideal. You know, we’re always optimistic that we’ll have a good bike, a good package, but to make it to the opening round and have three podiums is ideal. We’re in the perfect place to build for the upcoming rounds.
“I think as a racer and a competitor you always think that everything will go smoothly and you will win everything. I think it’s natural for the opponents to have that mindset, so I’ve always believed that if things go well, we can do this and better, but you also have the realistic mindset that this It’s a tough series, lots of good riders and the race is always tough and you can never be sure you’ll get this good, so it’s definitely fun to take on the top positions. this mind.
“I spent a lot of time thinking about when I will win again; when i win often you would think it would come. The last two years have been tough, people are starting to doubt you and I don’t blame them for that. It feels great to win for yourself, for the team and that’s the feeling of success.”
Glenn Irwin
“It didn’t go according to plan from the beginning! The first race that started today was terrible, again I did something bad with the clutch. My plan is if you’re leading two or three, get through the last corner easily because the tires are tough and if you get past one or two you’re still in the top four. That was not the case, and I went back again and I was trying to save my tires and had to try to overtake Leon Haslam.
“Danny Kent did a great job; I can see where he’s weak because I’ve spent three years on the Honda and that’s probably an advantage. I just went down for a bit, then he came back, after he did, I passed him and that’s when I decided to try dropping the hammer a bit more.
“It was really good because the boys on the team and they worked really hard last night. I lost sleep thinking how we can improve last night! The car was great, we could still be strong in some areas but I struggled a lot in the last corner and turn one but I never gave up.
“I said this morning that I wanted to play an Oscar winner today, not a supporting role, and I knew after the warm-up we could do it. The first race of today I think was really good because we finished 13th to third and it was tough, but I really enjoyed it and to go on and get the Bafta at the end of the day was great. great!”
Tommy bride
“First and foremost, it’s been a great start to the season and the first time the team has won three podiums, and in one of my bogey rounds, credit goes to them all. I caught up with Kyle Ryde in the first race and the Yamahas always played well in the last zone, which kept him moving in turn one. I had to keep going back to him because I could see Josh was a little sloppy. With four to five laps to go, I knew it was time to go but although it was difficult to get past him, the red flag brought the race to an early end. The last race was tough due to starting ninth and I probably underestimated how difficult it was, but I finished third, so it was a great start to my time at BeerMonster Ducati.”
