Apparently the fact that it only had 417 miles on it meant something to someone because the highest bidder at the auction paid $32,503. This isn’t the first time someone has paid that much. The vehicle’s description says that the sale on the 11th fell through because “the highest bidder failed to honor their commitment to buy.” That had nothing to do with the Jeep itself, which simply backed out of the sale, leading to it being relisted—and won—a second time. Still, it was a crazy sale.
That $32,503 price tag is lower than the original MSRP of $38,795 ($54,292 in 2024 dollars), but still. This isn’t some rare special edition or a Grand Cherokee with some obscure option package that was only offered for two months in a single production year. This is an SUV that Stellantis has produced a lot of in its decade of production. Buyers could have bought a brand-new Jeep for that money.
