This Hades mod adds Apollo to the list of game gods – Destructoid
Meet Apollo, the god of music
Hades is one of mine favorite game All Time. That was my starting game at the start of the pandemic, and after all was said and done, I think I spent almost 400 hours on that bad boy. I played and played again Hades to the death, so anything new to help transform it is a welcome change. Enter Apollo – the Greek god of music, who was dropped from the game’s original lineup, but was later added to the game as a mod thanks to AlexKage’s project, OlympusExtrawhich was originally discovered by ResetEra.
The mod adds Apollo to the game as if he were just like any other god, including Boons (solo and double), Keepsake, a Wrath (you know, the attack from the environment that the gods catch attacks you when you’re in the two-boon chamber), and of course, lots of dialogue. An artist named Reikiix portrait of Apollo, looks so good you can’t tell it’s not part of the base game.
Apollo’s feature is a blinding effect, making it more likely that enemies will miss their attacks. I can imagine that would be really good with Aphrodite or Athena’s Boons if you want to run away with little damage or even no attack. There have been several videos of modders playing with Apollo mods, so those might be worth checking out if you want to see what he can do to help Zagreus escape the Underworld.
OlympusExtra is still in the early stages – not only will Apollo’s inclusion of the game build more in the future with some dialogue and the Boons duo on the way, but other gods will also be added to the mix , including Hera, Hestia, and Hephaestus. Hades has cultivated a massive following since its release in 2020 and it’s great to see the modding community get in on the action.
