With the WBC super featherweight title contest tomorrow night, it’s conceivable that both Rey Vargas and O’Shaquie Foster will have the edge in Friday’s deliberations. After all, it’s hard for a boxer to gain weight. Fluid depleted, hungry for food, with the stress of a pro game just hours away, the warriors simply yearned for the moment when certain forms of fluids and nutrients could be. enter their body. And so it makes sense that undefeated Vargas, 26-0 and Foster 19-2 won’t be in the mood for any crap during Friday’s head-to-head deliberations.
However, a smooth pre-match event is simply not possible. Officials and teammates had to squeeze between the two men after the confrontation, as Vargas appeared to have touched Foster, thus triggering an immediate reaction. It’s certainly not an unusual time for the sport of boxing, but one should always be aware of the fact that boxers are getting injured. Since the ring was the money-making ground for both men, it was everyone’s concern that things were at least in the right order before the battle even had a chance to begin.
While Vargas was the favorite to win the main event airing on Showtime on Saturday night, Foster was determined to overcome his sadness at San Antonio’s Alamodome. If he tops Vargas this weekend, Foster will not only be a world champion title, he will also be a toast to the sport.
