These wedding guests flew high after a Florida caterer served them cannabis-infused food
A guest at a Florida wedding is now suing the caterer, who she says served food laced with “toxic” marijuana.
According to Fox News, a lawsuit was filed Monday by Virginia Ann Taylor-Svobod. The woman said she suffered “serious, permanent” injuries after enjoying food from Joycelyn Bryant of Joycelyn’s Southern Kitchen Inc.
In the lawsuit, Taylor-Svobod alleges that she did not know the food served contained marijuana. As a result, she suffered “cannabis poisoning”. And is accusing Bryant of negligence, demanding more than $30,000 in damages, as reported by the New York Post.
(Bryant) knew, or should have known, that allowing food served by (Joycelyn’s Southern Kitchen) to be laced with marijuana had the potential to cause injury and damage to wedding guests.

Weddings go from happiness to chaos
On February 19, delegates from the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office arrived at the wedding reception and discovered guests complaining of feeling “high”. According to Fox News, a guest told officers he was so high he felt like he had “drugs in his system”. The guest alleges that he only ate food and drank alcohol.
When officers arrived, guests were treated by first responders, with several sick attendees being taken to hospital.
What was supposed to be a happy event, turned into chaos when a guest told authorities he wanted to press charges against those responsible for the seasoning of his food.
Samples of the food served were then sent to a laboratory for testing. According to Fox News, the results showed that the bread and lasagna were positive for THC, an active ingredient in marijuana.
Bryant and the bride were both in hot water
In April, Bryant was charged with violating Florida’s Anti-Counterfeiting Act, transporting marijuana, and culpable negligence. The bride also faces a number of charges including tampering with food and transporting marijuana.
