When it comes to fashion, 2022 is going strong. From easy-going runners to body-hugging bodysuits, sleek and simple is the name of the game when it comes to New Year’s play style. Two things that the new brand launched ARRA doing so is correct.
Created by designer Christine Arra, formerly with Ralph Lauren and Donna Karan, ARRA creates beautiful garments using premium and environmentally conscious luxury fabrics. Made in NYC, each product is ideal for every day.
“My inspiration for this collection comes from organic, fluid shapes in everyday nature and I am influenced by modern art and architecture,” said Arra, who earned a BFA in Fashion designer from Fashion Institute of Technology said. “When it comes to pleating, I create designs with timeless subtleties and wear with ease.”
After years of working with some of NYC’s top designers, Arra sees a growing need in the industry for environmentally conscious materials sourcing and responsible business practices. And so her eponymous brand was born.
“We wanted the ARRA woman to wear these outfits to work, to dinner or just plain casual, depending on how she styled her existing wardrobe,” she tells. I. “The line was created out of an aspiration to source quality raw materials, fabrics and textiles responsibly, while adhering to our ethos of fair and responsible business practices.”
ARRA manufactures all of its apparel locally in New York City. Most of the packaging is derived from recycled materials, is printed with eco-friendly algae ink and is recyclable and reusable.
Some of my favorite pieces from the collection include Top Geography, a sleeveless, fitted t-shirt, with an asymmetrical neckline shape, ruched sleeve holes, and side coverage details. Pair with Slack living room pants, this has quickly become my favorite work-from-home outfit.
