The suspect of stealing Lady Gaga’s dog has been recovered after a fierce manhunt lasting 4 months
It’s been more than a year and a half since a group of suspects shot and killed Lady Gaga’s dog walker while targeting her three French Bulldogs: Koji, Gustav and Miss Asia. They run away with two of the dogs, not realizing they belong to a celebrity. One person involved in the incident tried to return the dogs for a bounty, but that helped police locate the suspect.
Five people were arrested for stealing dogs. Fees vary based on each person’s role. James Howard Jackson, Jaylin White and Lafayette Whaley were charged the most because they were the suspects who approached the victim, Ryan Fischer.
Released and withdrawn
Jackson was charged with attempted murder after allegedly shooting Fischer. Fischer had a collapsed lung and spent many months in the hospital is recovering. Despite the pain, he still couldn’t help but worry about the dogs.
Once the five suspects were arrested, everything seemed to have been worked out, but then, in April 2022, Jackson was accidentally released. The system replaced the case with a new box, and somehow that showed Jackson’s allegation was dismissed due to “teacher error”. Jackson was on the autorickshaw by the time the officials realized their mistake.
Jackson disappeared for four months, despite a multi-agency manhunt looking for him. Officials stressed that he was likely “armed and dangerous.” The US police department then announced a reward of $ 5,000 for anyone with information leading to the arrest of the suspect.
After announcing the bounty, it took less than two weeks for the police to find Jackson. The sheriff’s department did not share details of how he was recaptured, but instead said he was “arrested without incident.”
Another suspect was convicted
While Jackson’s search was ending, another suspect received a conviction. White will serve four years in prison after pleading “not to run” on a second-degree robbery charge. He also confirmed that someone in the group was armed during the incident.
Sentences for other suspects have yet to be shared, including Jackson’s fate. Jackson pleaded “not guilty” to his charges, which included attempted murder, conspiracy to commit a robbery and assault with a gun. It is unclear when details of his punishment will be announced.
