The Power of Smart Collections in Lightroom
Lightroom has many tools for organizing and searching your images, and one of the most useful is Smart Collections. If you haven’t taken advantage of Smart Gallery yet, check out this great video tutorial that will show you what they are and how to use them to organize your photos.
Coming to you from Anthony Morganti, this helpful video tutorial will show you in-depth information on how to use Smart Collections in Lightroom. As you may know, Lightroom allows you to create photo albums, called “Collections”. Smart Collections take this a step further by automatically populating the folder based on any parameters you specify. This could be based on things like ratings, color labels, or keywords, or by metadata such as ISO level, when the photo was taken, or any other piece of relevant information you can think of. Better yet, you can link requests together using logical connectors, such as “made in 2021” and “rated three stars above”. They are an extremely useful way to keep different collections of images up-to-date without having to do a lot of manual work to add them. Check out the video above for the full recap from Morganti.
