The new Subaru WRX is the fastest car to complete the race for the O’Neil team
When we first drove New Subaru WRX, it proved more effective than inspiring. It feels like you maybe push hard, but it’s not really a car that begs to be pushed. Again, we were also amateurs who drove it in the rain on the tight roads of northern California. How it works in the hands of Team O’Neil rally instructor Wyatt Knox, in spite of? Luckily, Knox recently got his hands on a new Subaru WRX to answer a very important question: does it accelerate?
Oh, yes. It will regroup. In fact, it achieved the fastest time on the track ever recorded by Team O’Neil’s YouTube channel. Knox uses his own stopwatch to time each run, so you can expect his time to be off by a tick or two, but that doesn’t really matter. Finally, the new WRX ran a 1:50.60, more than two seconds faster than the second fastest car on the list, the side-by-side Can-Am Maverick. It’s also four seconds quicker than the much more powerful Ford Bronco Raptor.
That was just one run. At the end of the video, Knox stated that he thought a few more laps could cut more of his run time. And luckily, he didn’t leave us hanging. In Team O’Neil’s latest video, he’s back in the Subaru WRX and ready to beat his own record. It wasn’t a particularly long course so there were only so many opportunities to shorten the time, however, he did it.
But how fast is his fastest lap time? To get the answer, watch the video below and find out for yourself. Odds are, it takes more time than you think.
