Yet another fun game to look forward to
The game industry is flooded with can’t be cute life simulation right now, and as a huge fan of the genre, I personally couldn’t be happier. Titles like Stardew Valley and Mule has left a clear mark on the market, proving time and time again that gamers are yearning for a simpler, sweeter life. Next in the long list of emulators is The little witch in the forestand it looks like a real contender to stand out from the crowd and is one of my favorite games in recent memory.
The little witch in the forest can only enter early accessbut it got a lot of attention on Steam and Xbox (it is also playable with Game Pass).
Players will take on the role of Ellie, a young witch who has gone out on her own to collect items in the forest and help her neighbors. Ellie also wears a sentient witch hat named Virgil, and endeavors to hone her craft as an apprentice witch, an element reminiscent of Kiki’s Delivery Service (unsurprisingly one of my favorite movies, imagine).
Initial reviews say it’s very similar to Stardew by playing, just with a witty theme about it, and nothing else you can say that will make me want to play this game more.
Developer of The little witch in the forestSunny Side Up, is said to be very pleased with the feedback on the game so far and is continuing to update players. They say the plan is for the game to come out in full by 2023, adding two more story chapters and an epilogue in addition to the prologue and the first chapter currently available to play.
It seems like they have a lot more games to do, but knowing that fans have loved the project so far must be a great motivator. Godspeed, Sunny Side Up – we can’t wait to see what else you have in store for us.
