The jury: How does Vasyl Lomachenko go up against the likes of Devin Haney and Gervonta Davis at lightweight?

This week’s panelists were asked to imagine how Vasyl Lomachenko would face off against two of America’s best young boxers.

Ryan Walsh (Former British featherweight champion)

Vasyl would be my favorite. He has the best feet and moves in boxing. I was lucky enough to witness him live. His shortfall in size and strength against Haney and Davis will be nullified by his boxing abilities, brains, and ultimately, experience. The guy has been fighting in world titles since his second professional bout. He is a phenom.

Denzel Bentley (British middleweight champion)

Loma is not born underweight so he might have a hard time with Haney but Davis is a little closer to his size. He just needs to watch out for that power. In the end, though, I think both boxers are young, fresh and hungry and can get a win against an aging Loma.

Maxi Hughes (Former British Lightweight Champion)

Lomachenko remains a major threat to all the top players in the league. His skills are unbelievable and he will be back, like Oleksandr Usyk, adding fire to the troubles facing Ukraine.

Bradley Skeete (Former British welterweight champion)

I think Lomachenko will have a good chance against both Devin Haney and Gervonta Davis in lightweight but I still pick both Haney and Davis to beat him. I think Loma is a class act, but he seems to be at the end of his career.
