Invincible Flight route who was crowned a 1/4 winner in the TVG Pacific Classic (G1) earlier this month, will enter stud as an organization property at Lane’s End Farm after finishing his racing career.
Via Tapit From a prolific Phipps family, the Flightline was bred by Jane Lyon’s Summer Wind Equine and raced by Summer Wind in partnership with Hronis Racing, Siena Farm, West Point Thoroughbreds and Woodford Racing. A $1 million purchase at The Saratoga Sale, Fasig-Tipton’s top pick of the year sale in Saratoga Springs, NY, from Lane’s End, Flightline coached by John Sadler and was driven by Flavien Prat in all five of his starts.
Flightline has shown star power from the start, winning its April 2021 debut at Santa Anita . Park. His 13/4 stretch win won Beyer’s Speed Number 105. He’s considering in the level one allowance at Del Mar on the second ask, win 12 3/4 lengths and earn 114 Beyer.
Launching stakes in Runhappy Malibu Stakes (G1) in December 2021, Flightline continued to assert its dominance, winning in 11 and a half minutes and earning 118 Beyer. Next seen in Urban Handicap Hill ‘n’ Dale (G1) at Belmont Park On June 11, Flightline overcame a difficult run to score six long runs, earning 112 Beyer.
The Pacific Classic on September 3 was Flightline’s first attempt to stretch to two turns and a mile and a half. It proved to be his most dominant performance to date, as he withdrew from the Emirates Airline (G1)-sponsored Dubai World Cup. Country Grammer and Santa Anita Handicap Winner presented by Yaamava ‘Resort & Casino (G1) Express train for the win in 19 1/4 lengths, earning a Beyer of 126 — the second-highest Beyer coin since Daily Racing Form began publishing Beyer Speed Figures 30 years ago. Thoro-Graph has set Flightline to 8 1/2, the fastest number it has ever come up with.
Flightline’s Pacific Classic performance was a huge hit abroad: Timeform assigned him a rating of 143, the highest number ever given to an American-trained horse. Flightline also topped Timeform’s 2022 global rankings, ahead of undefeated European superstar Shadwell Baaeed . He has made nearly $1.4 million and is being assigned to the Longines Breeders’ Cup Classic (G1) on November 5 at Keeneland.
Routes not belonging to Jane Lyon Hairy daughter of Charlie India who won Edgewood Stakes (G3T) at Churchill Downs and placed second in both American Oaks (G1T) and Starlet Stakes (G1) and third in Frizette Stakes (G1). It’s a stellar Phipps family, as the third dam was the winner of Matron and Acorn (both G1) Fee’s Fee, and the fourth dam was the #1 and multi-pointed Fantastic Find.
