The first images in the development of Yakuza 8 appeared in a video tour of the office recently, confirming the return of a few key figures. The video has appeared on the YouTube channel of Japanese YouTuber and celebrity Mikuru Asakura, who visited the Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio office to discuss a cameo in the upcoming game. Additionally, the video shows how the company implements motion capture for its games. [Thanks, Famitsu!]
The video begins with Asakura’s meeting with the CEO of Sega Sammy Holdings, Haruki Satomi. After discussing whether Asakura would like to appear as a cameo character, Yakuza 8 producer Masayoshi Yokoyama gave him a tour of the studio’s offices. Notably, the tour of the office gave fans a glimpse of the studio’s development, from character creation to motion capture.
At the beginning of the tour, we get to see some of the developers working on the environments, character animations, and event scenes. An outstanding event scene Yakuza: Like a Dragon main characters Ichiban Kasuga, Koichi Adachi and Yu Nanba. Yokoyama added that footage of the event has never been released to the public. Interestingly, Kasuga has a new hairstyle and only wears a tank top.

RGG Studio confirms the development of a Yakuza: Like a Dragon next part back in October 2021. In an interview, Yokoyama revealed that a sequel will take place few year later events of Yakuza: Like a Dragon. News of the sequel’s development came after start of the Yakuza series producer and studio head Toshihiro Nagoshi.
Yakuza 8 is in the process of development. There is currently no confirmed release date or platform.
