The dog that was thrown over the fence of the rescue team has been abused and abandoned for many years

After only a few days, one could not recognize a Shih Tzu named Parker. When rescuers found her, she was so severely disabled that it was not clear what kind of dog she was. Looks like someone neglected her for years and then threw her over the fence of a local animal rescue team.

Veterinarians say Parker is one of the most severe cases of neglect they have ever seen. She may never have had a home of love before, so the rescue is determined to help her find one. In the meantime, they also hope to locate her abuser.

Years without love

A volunteer in Florida found Parker next to the surrounding fence Tri-County Animal Rescue. The gate to the fenced area remains securely locked, so officials suspect that someone threw 6-year-old Shih Tzu over the fence and left her there.

Sadly, being stoned and abandoned was just the beginning of Parker’s problems. Poor girl looks like she used to be neglected for many years due to the dense coating, the skin becomes irritated and cannot walk. She could barely even stand on her own.

“[It was] one of the worst neglect issues I have ever seen an animal present,” said veterinarian Lindsey Naimoli. “This is the product of years of neglect and abuse living in a lousy facility.”

Parker had no collar or microchip when volunteers found her. So the person who disposes of her may be intentionally getting rid of her, but no dog deserves to be thrown away. The rescuers will make sure that from now on Parker will feel nothing but love.

Parker’s second chance

It took five employees more than two hours to shave off Parker’s dyed hair. While doing so, the staff realized that her hair was infested with maggots. She has a mammary gland tumor, and she needs urgent surgery. In addition, her eyes are forced open by the dense undercoat, and one of her eyes never fully forms.

The staff always reassured Parker that everything would be fine because they cleaned her and gave her the necessary treatment. She is currently on her way to recovery. The rescue doesn’t know if she’ll make it through the first night, but she’s still going strong, thanks to the many people who are helping her out.

“You never want to think that a human could do this to an animal,” Naimoli said. “To see it done, this has been overlooked for years. This person must be detained. “
