Leaving a dog comfortably resting on the porch within its own range, an approaching deliverer can seem like a threat. That’s why there’s some truth to the concept of dogs hating postmen.

It’s an inevitability, which is why delivery drivers often have to be very cautious when approaching homes with dogs outside. Recently, a Ring camera captured the interaction between a delivery driver and a dog at the house he was delivering. That footage is something you just have to watch.

“Are you friendly?”

Grace is a Pit Bull who lives in Missouri. One day in June, she was sitting on her porch when an Amazon delivery driver named Eric arrived with a package. Grace’s mother Ashley shared the video their Ring captured that day on Instagram.

At first, Eric didn’t notice Grace as he headed for the front door. Then, startled, he greeted Pittie from a few feet away.

“Are you friendly? I don’t feel like you,” he told her.

He continued to chat calmly with Grace without getting any closer and even asked her permission to put the box down on the porch. The whole time, Grace remained seated, just watching him.

“I’ll order it for your mom right here, okay? Okay, can I come up here? “

Eric expected a few more steps and placed the package at the end of the porch. Seeing Grace’s calm response, Eric squealed happily, introduced himself, and excitedly tapped the package. That’s pretty much all Grace needed.

She stood up and immediately began to gently wag her tail. Based on body language and gentle approach, Eric realized that Grace To be a “friendly doggie dog.” And just like that, they are friends!
