This is the year of our lord 2022, but that won’t stop developers from exploring the niche system of game genres: Adventure FMV. The latest in a long line of quirky releases comes in the form of The Centennial Case: The Story of Shijimalaunches next month on PlayStation, PC and Nintendo Switch.
Directed by Koichiro Ito, who brought us the fun of 2008 428: Scramble for ShibuyaCentennial case is a period drama that asks the player to solve a series of murders – all of which happened in the same family line over a 100-year period. Our story takes place in three separate parts, set in 1922, 1972, and finally 2022, as the player steps into the role of mystery novelist Haruka Kagami, determined to find the answers to these mysteries. this strange time crime.
Centennial caseWhodunnits consists of three parts: Incident, Inference and Solution. Players will follow the events leading up to each murder in Incident, assemble clues, theories, and hypotheses in Reasoning, and ultimately make their accusations in Solution. By solving these cold cases, perhaps Kagami can break the chain of killing that seems to carry the invincible Shijima blood. It all sounds very exciting and quite exciting, I’m glad we won’t have to wait too long before we can all catch Jessica Fletcher.
