The best companies to work for in France in 2022

Biotech company Biomerieux was named the best place to work in France in 2022, according to Glassdoor’s annual ranking of employers.

Biomerieux is a new contender in this year’s Glassdoor rankings. It’s released three different diagnostic tests for Covid-19 during the pandemic, as well as a cloud-based software application to help identify new variants.

Global job site Glassdoor compiled the rankings by looking at companies that received at least 20 ratings across nine attributes, including an overall score from an employee, as well as factors like balance work-life, compensation and benefits, and whether employees refer their employer to a friend.

Cloud-based software company Sales force voted the second best employer in France in 2022, falling one place from last year’s employer rankings and coming in third this year List of leading UK companies.

Salesforce has actively embraced remote work amid the pandemic, with CEO Marc Benioff Tells CNBC “Closing Bells” in June that he wants up to 60% of the company’s employees to continue working from home after the crisis.

Management consulting firm Bain & Company, another newcomer to this year’s list, was named the third best employer in France. American workers also have names Bain & Co. is the third best company will work for the country this year, according to Glassdoor’s listing.

Giant technology Microsoft ranked fourth in the French ranking, followed by power transmission system operator RTE.

In addition to the number of newcomers in this year’s ranking, Glassdoor career trends analyst Jill Cotton noted that telecommuting is a popular topic, with seven out of the top 10 on the list. “provides this flexible approach to work.”

She added that popular French consumer product companies continue to be well-regarded by workers, with fashion labels Hermes moved up to seventh place, while cosmetic brands L’Oreal and iconic fashion house Chanel also featured in the top 30.
