There are two Americas, a real America and an illusionary “preventive principal” that makes manufacturing illegal. And in its previous administration, the Commission concluded that the science did not support the reinforcement of the standard. The new EPA administrator decided he couldn’t risk that happening again.
As a result, he promptly fired all seven members of the Commission and added six academics who had received a total of more than $126 million in EPA funding and a statutory required state official. , all agree that the particle-matter standard should be strengthened.
The newly reconstituted Committee then unanimously recommended that the EPA make the standard more stringent, and the Agency proposed a rule that would do so.
