Tesla has reported 475,318 vehicles – 356,309 Model 3 and 119,009 Model S – as being recalled, according to documents filed with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

Tesla is recalling more than 475,000 cars for potential problems that could increase the risk of a crash.
The two defects in question were by design or fabricated by design, prompting separate recalls to be filed with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration last week.
One recall affects all From 2017 to 2020 Tesla Model 3s stemming from problems with the cable leading to the rearview camera. Cables can be damaged by opening and closing the trunk lid and, ultimately, preventing the camera image from displaying, according to profile.
Second, regarding the frunk – or the front body – the inner latch Model S sedans from 2014 and up. Based on apply for NHTSA, some latches have been improperly installed at the factories and can result in the front hood suddenly unfurling and obstructing the driver’s view of the road.
Tesla has reported a total of 475,318 vehicles under the recall, according to the filing.
The company says the latch issue in the Model S can be fixed by having the device reassembled at a service center. Meanwhile, new conductor protectors and cable harnesses need to be installed in all Model 3s. Both services will be provided free of charge.
Last week, Tesla announced it would disable the feature that allows drivers and passengers to play video games on the central touch screen while the vehicle is being driven. The move comes after NHTSA said it would open a formal investigation into concerns about distracted driving.
