Teofimo Lopez, Sandor Martin gain weight for Saturday fight
Teofimo Lopez and Sandor Martin on Friday put on weight for their 140-pound bout Saturday at Madison Square Garden in New York City (ESPN, ESPN+).
Lopez weighs 139.2, Martin 139.8.
Lopez (17-1, 13 KOs) will knock out Pedro Campa in the seventh round in August, his first match since he lost his undisputed 135-pound championship to George Kambosos Jr. in November of last year.
The Brooklyn native became an official 140-pound athlete after his defeat.
Martin (40-2, 13 KOs) made headlines when he overcame Mikey Garcia last October. Then he picked Jose Felix this past April.
The Spaniard agreed to meet Lopez after three weeks of notice before Jose Pedraza withdrew due to illness.
The fight is being advertised as removing the WBC title.
