During tonight’s Game Awards pre-screening, the revamped Telltale Games announced a new story I’m set in the widely fancied sci-fi world of The Expanse. Oh my God! The Expanse: A Telltale Series will likely focus on the show’s best character, Camina Drummer, who is played by her show’s actor, Cara Gee, in the game. Oh, that’s great, that. Supporting development is Deck Nine Games, the studio behind Life Is Strange: True Colors. Check out the trailer below.
Beginning as a novel series before reaching mainstream success as an Amazon Prime show, The Expanse is set several centuries in the future. Humanity has taken over the solar system at the speed of light, with the greatest result spreading our conflict over hundreds of thousands of miles. It’s about the political jostling between a jammed Earth, a military Mars, and the many factions of people who are making a living on outer planets. Then weird sci-fi stuff comes along and things really go awry.
The game doesn’t appear to tell the main story, but it does feature one of the show’s characters. Camina Drummer wasn’t part of the show from the start, but she’s grown to become the best character with the best friendship. Her actor, Cara Gee, also voices her in the game.
Telltale explains about the game, “In the near future on the outskirts of the asteroid belt, a bloody mutiny occurred on Artemis. “You play as XO Camina Drummer, where your choices determine the ship’s fate. What will you do with the truth, Bosmang?”
Honestly, I hope it’s mostly a dating sim where she goes around having fun.
No release date has been announced yet. There is no background. But surely the PC?
Storytelling game died in 2018 is in the process of making the final installment of The Walking Dead. Telltale’s name and assets and such were purchased by investors opened a new Telltale in 2019. They re-released Telltale’s games, Continue The Wolf Among Us 2and seems to be playing new-new games. With the help of Deck Nine.
