Human sacrifice! Mass Hysteria! Dogs and cats live together! Sega and Bandai Namco just went and worked, they just went and watched two pioneering 3D opponents fight, finally shaking hands. As revealed this weekend Virtua Fighter Cup Tournaments – Official Tekken cross content geared to Virtua Fighter 5: Ultimate Showdown.
Now, before you lose your mind, we’re not talking about the characters, (at least not not yet), but Sega revealed that Tekken costume content will be done the way it is VF5: Ultimate Showdown at some point in the future. Video below highlights the device in action, as Akira Yuki performs the gi and pointed tip of Kazuya Mishima, while Lau Chan steps onto the plate as another brutal patriarch, Heihachi.
In a world of cameos and fighting games, one has to admit that it’s a shame we’re not talking about the official guest stars. But the costumes here look pretty authentic and are something to celebrate. Hopefully we’ll see more skins revealed, how could we not have Wolf/King, Sarah/Nina, or Brad/Paul?
Even if these are not “Vs.” Fully crossed, it’s nice to see two 90s rivals finally side-by-side.
