Downes said a trip to Aga Khan’s private home Siyouni could be in the future cards for Tarnawa in the future, but adding a half-sister’s advancement to the stallion will influence that decision.
“For example, when you really look at her pedigree, she’s not a Cape Cross mare, so Sea The Stars isn’t an option for her,” he said. “I imagine we will send her to France to go to Siyouni at some point but we have a sister of hers who is now turning 2, so we will see her continue as before making that particular decision. The options actually available to someone like Tarnawa were pretty slim at the start of her academic career.”
In addition to Siyouni who is about to turn 2, Tarana also has a 3-year-old winning baby Fastnet Rock gelding Tazaral and released one of Frankel’s ponies this year. She was sent to Lope de Vega for the year 2022.
