Tanti dominates Round 2 of Australian production in Adelaide
Round 2 of the Australian Bull Racing Championship 2022 – Adelaide
Round 2 of the FOX Australian Supercross Championship came to an end at the Adelaide Showgrounds, where Max Anstie of Team Honda HRC and Aaron Tanti of CDR Yamaha took home the top titles in SX2 and SX1 respectively.
The SX3 class also saw the first event of the season, with Cole Davies leading the way.
SX1
During the SX1 Main Event, Matt Moss stormed out of the gate for a hole-in-the-wall match, followed by Justin Brayton and Aaron Tanti. Tanti made a decisive move three times later, overtaking Brayton for second and not long after overtaking Moss to take the lead.
From there, Brayton would win the CDR, although the gap would remain the same, and Tanti won his first main event, a 450cc supercross.
Aaron Tanti
“It feels great to win my first main event as a 450cc supercross! It was a tough race, the track was broken a lot, but to win against Justin Brayton and Josh Hill was amazing, I couldn’t be more enthused and can’t wait for the rest of the championship.” .
Brayton finished second while Josh Hill took the final spot on the podium, while Matt Moss had to come in fourth.
Kyle Webster is fifth, well ahead of Dylan Wills and Hayden Mellross, with Jackson Richardson further in eighth.
Dylan’s Will – P6
“I really enjoy coming to Adelaide because the dirt is always great. The track may be mediocre, but we Australians don’t get to race as much as Americans, so an easier track closes the gap between us all. I’m really pleased with how today went and especially how I was able to brush myself off and get back to my flow after making a mistake at the end of the race. I feel a lot more tired and it’s a big step up from last weekend’s opening round. We now have four weeks to get back to work and play against Newcastle! “
Hayden Mellross – P7
“Today was an okay day for me, certainly not where we wanted the end result, but I felt as if our pace was definitely there. While finishing seventh tonight, we’re currently fourth in the championship and within easy reach of the top three, so we’ll keep working from here and come back strong next week. next time. “
Dylan Wood and Cory Watts made the top 10.
Brayton and Tanti are currently tied on 47 points, Moss is third with 34 points, well ahead of Mellross with 32 points, while Wills and Webster both hold 30 points.

SX2
In what proved to be a chaotic night in the SX2 Class, point team leader Anstie dashed in from the midfield area as Honda teammate Wilson Todd was looking to inspect the front of the pack.
The Englishman slowly regained Todd’s lead as he pushed through the pack, eventually overtaking Todd himself and claiming the victory.
Max Anstie – P1
“It was a great night tonight. I actually had a very good jump out of the gate, despite being inched by a KTM racer and inching into the first turn. Wilson (Todd) did a great race, I had to charge to get him, and avoid a bit of carnage as I passed. All in all, it was a great night. Sincere thanks to Yarrive and the entire Honda HRC Australia team. “
GasGas’ Noah Ferguson finished the podium, 11,321 seconds from the lead.
Noah Ferguson – P3
“It doesn’t feel real! I’m stuck with the result, just on the moon and speechless at the moment. To finish P3 in my second pass ever, I’m really happy. The track tonight is softer and you have to be really consistent for the whole 15 laps, which I was able to do after a strong start. I am truly grateful to be taking on this position with the GASGAS Racing Team and I am looking forward to preparing more for the next game against Newcastle. “
Nathan Crawford fourth and Rhys Budd fifth.
Nathan Crawford – P4
“Qualifying went well and I had a great start in the heat race, then won in a really comfortable way and that was good. I had another good pick-up for the main event, but I just started and got pushed off the track a couple of times on the first lap – I was close to the end – and I went back 15 laps to finished in fourth place. It’s a case of lifesaving mode, I know I need to move forward and every position counts, so I’m second in the championship. I am disappointed with the results on the night when we had so much promise, but happy to improve the position in points. “
Jayce Cosford is sixth, ahead of Col Thompson, Jaxon Hadlow and Gage Linville, with Jai Constantinou completing the top 10.
Anstie holds a perfect 50 points on the leaderboard, ahead of Crawford (38) and Thompson (36).
