TAA Day at the Florida Derby Day races

The Purebred Aftercare Alliance (TAA) is working with Gulfstream Park held TAA Day at the Florida Derby Day Race. This edition of TAA Day at the Races includes a TAA race presentation on the card, an opportunity for riders to pledge their entry fees to TAA, the Best Turned Out Award by 1/ST , Gulfstream Park and TAA co-sponsor and call to action for race day attendees and viewers joining 1/ST and Gulfstream Park to celebrate TAA through fundraising.

Race 7, the Sand Springs Stakes 7 race, presented by Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance will begin at 2:27 p.m. ET on Saturday, April 2, 2022. Here’s a presentation on A TAA blanket and crossbody bag will be made for the race’s winning run connection. Supporters of TAA 1/ST Racing and Gulfstream Park will raise wellness awareness throughout race day.

Eight children aged four and up and mares will make a 1/16-mile turf auction for $100,000. Out of the 8 Purebreds participating, one has a connection to a TAA supporter: #4 CRYSTAL CUSTOMERS (FR) is partly owned by Madaket Stables LLC (Sol Kumin).

“The mission of the Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance should be the number one priority in our industry,” said 1/ST Racing Vice President and TAA Board member, Nikki Walker. “1/ST Racing and Gulfstream Park are proud to have supported TAA since 2014 and welcome the opportunity to continue supporting our retired racehorses at this year’s Florida Derby.”

“It was great to be featured in the Championship meet at Gulfstream Park,” said TAA Operations Advisor Stacie Clark Rogers. “The team in Florida and at 1/ST have always been very supportive of the Coalition of Thoroughbred Care.”
