9Sydney News said the vehicle owner was not injured.

The incident is believed to have occurred in Mount Druitt early this morning, with NSW Fire and Rescue confirming they responded to a car fire on Luxford Road.

The car can be seen lying in the middle of the road with smoke rising from under the bonnet. Flames could also be seen both under the vehicle and near the firewall.

In a video recorded later and shared on Reddit, the engine compartment can be seen completely engulfed in flames.

Registration information shows this is one Jeep Grand Cherokee 2019 Equipped with a 3.0 liter V6 turbo-diesel engine.

It is unclear what caused the fire.

The WK2 series Grand Cherokee has been subject to multiple recalls, including one in 2022 for an Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) cooler that could crack, potentially leading to a vehicle fire.
