Remy is a lovable dog who enjoys hanging out with her dad, James. She especially enjoys riding shotgun in the car with him. James says his dogs are his world, and he couldn’t imagine life without them. He enjoys looking after them every day and has a special bond with Remy, who he got as a puppy. Remy is the matriarch of the pack, always telling the other dogs what to do and when to do it.
James’ dog Scooby was Remy’s best friend, but when he passed away, Remy became very depressed. That’s when they found Billy, a dog in need of rescuing from a family that couldn’t care for him. It was love at first sight for Remy and Billy, and they bonded instantly. Billy loves to be out and about, chasing squirrels and rabbits, though he’s never caught any, thankfully. When James got another dog, Humphrey, Remy and Billy initially didn’t accept him. It took about two months for Remy to warm up to Humphrey, who turned out to be a good boy with a bit of a naughty side.
If it’s five minutes past their walking time, James says the dogs will give him the “evil eye.” Remy needed spinal surgery at one point, which led to her not wanting to ride in the car anymore. She could make it to the park, but not back home. To help her, James got a garden cart, put a piece of wood on top to make it larger, and placed her bed on it for comfort. The other dogs are tethered to each side by their leash. While it may look like the other dogs are pulling her, James is actually the one doing the work. Remy prefers it this way, so she can see the other dogs and feel more confident.
James feels that his dogs are an extension of himself, and he loves them dearly. He does everything he can to keep them happy, and comfortable, and give them the best life possible.
*Since filming the video below, Remy crossed the rainbow bridge at 13-years-young. Before she passed, her brothers took her on her final cart ride.
