Abandoned when saved

In October 2017, Blanche, a tiny, 14-year-old Chihuahua, suddenly found herself without a home. The sweet dog surrendered out of resentment and anger after a fight between a father and his adult daughter.

He entrusted her to Baldwin Park Animal Shelter, where she was looking for a new home during her golden years. Not only that, it is extremely clear that she has suffered the consequences of neglect for a long time.

As a result, her health deteriorated severely. Blanch is underweight, has lost most of her coat, has overgrown fingernails and is suffering from serious dental problems. Older dogs are struggling to find new homes, and those needing procedures and prescriptions are having even more trouble.

Not long after, Blanche was scheduled to be eaten. And that very day, her former employer showed up hoping to take her home. The rescue force explained that in order for them to release Blanche, she was legally required to deal with all of her comprehensive medical issues, as well as being responsible for paying the $15 inpatient fee. every day she stayed at the shelter.

She decided to let Blanche stay, choosing instead to fill out an application for another dog at the shelter. Apparently, her application was immediately denied. Blanche has been abandoned again, and now she is facing certain death.

Fortunately, in a short time, Marley’s Mutts Dog Rescue Swoop in and save her on the same day she was supposed to be knocked out. She was taken to the vet later that day, where they discovered she had Cushings disease and an unresectable breast tumor.

The power of social media also helps Blanche find a loving home forever. Her new mom saw many of the shelter’s status updates about Blanche and fell in love. Between the heartbreaking backstory and the gorgeous little face, she knew she wanted Blanche and her extensive sweater collection to appear with her and her four other senior rescue pups.

“My husband often questions whether she is really a senior because she has a lot of energy. Don’t give them up [the seniors] – They still have a lot of life left and it’s great to see them come out of their shells behind the shelter,” said Patricia, Blanche’s new mother.
