Suzuki XL7 Hybrid 2023 launched in Indonesia – low-end SUV with 1.5L ISG mild hybrid, 7 seats from RM88,000
After equipping the Ertiga and Grand Vitara with the Suzuki Hybrid Smart Vehicle (SHVS) mild hybrid system in Indonesia, Suzuki is now launching the Suzuki XL7 Hybrid with the same powertrain. By the way, XL7 can be considered as a Ertiga with SUV styling, competing in Indonesia’s low SUV segment with Daihatsu Terios has just been upgraded, Honda BR-DRAW And Mitsubishi Xpanderamong others.
Suzuki has augmented the K15B’s 1.5-litre VVT naturally aspirated engine with the SHVS system, which includes an integrated starter alternator (ISG) and a lithium-ion battery under the front passenger seat. The mild hybrid SHVS is no different from the BSG ‘EMS’ system used in Beads X90.
The powertrain makes 105 PS and 138 Nm of torque at 4,400 rpm and can be paired with a 5-speed manual or a 4-speed automatic – unlike Toyota and Honda with boxes. CVT gearshift, Suzuki still clings to the torque converter box. By the way, the SHVS battery has a special warranty of 8 years or 160,000 km, two years more than the warranty for the Ertiga Hybrid.
New features for the model include automatic start-stop, cruise control, automatic headlights with ‘guide me lights’, auto-retractable mirrors and ‘electronic mirror touchscreen’ , is a digital rearview mirror. Manual version with gearshift indicator light. For eco-driving, not the red line.
The electrified XL7 looks pretty much like the regular seven-seater, but its two variants have 16-inch black wheels (195/60 tyres), a completely black grille (no chrome wings sprouting from the logo). S), the hybrid emblem, a chrome trim on the rear and an ultra-short antenna. Inside, the hybrid features new color themes and dark wood trim.
Safety wise, ESP is added to the regular XL7’s two airbags and ABS/EBD, while the electronic mirrors are reserved for the top Alpha. What sets the Alpha apart from the outside is the two-tone paintwork with black roof and columns. The new Savanna Ivory color is also exclusive to the premium line.
The price of the XL7 Hybrid starts at Rp 283.9 juta (RM87,643) for the Beta MT and Rp 294.9 juta (RM91,029) for the Beta AT. The Alpha is priced at Rp 293.9 juta (RM90,710) for the manual and Rp 304.9 juta (RM94,105) for the automatic.
