Suzuki Vision Gran Turismo concept revealed

If you marry the looks of a Suzuki Cappuccino convertible, the front end of a Swift Sport hatchback and the engine of a Hayabusa motorcycle, you get SuzukiLatest concept car of.

The Japanese automaker has officially revealed Vision Gran Turismo (VGT) concept that debuted on the video game Gran Turismo 7 on May 26, 2022.

Under the bonnet of a theoretical two-door speedster is a scream 1.3 liter inline four-cylinder engine taken from Suzuki’s flagship motorcycle. It is supplemented by two electric motors in the front and one in the reara total of three.

Suzuki states that the assumed VGT has a total system output of 318kW stratospheric power 9700 rpm and 610Nm of torque.

With a combination of motorcycle engines and electric motors front and rear, this means the Suzuki VGT will be a hybrid and all-wheel drive.

This is not the first time Suzuki has revealed a ‘concept’ with a Hayabusa engine. It introduced the GSX-R/4, a mid-engined sports car concept, in 2001. The latter concept was a physical creation.

Suzuki says it used as much of its racing technology as possible to create the digital VGT, while applying as many lightweight components as possible. It claims the concept, if produced, will weigh only 970kg.

As mentioned before, the Suzuki VGT has aspects inspired by the Cappuccino convertible and Swift Sport bloom. It is held together by a low stance and straight lines.

Notable exterior design elements include a digital rearview mirror, a central fin and a centered twin tailpipes.

Inside there are two seats, a yoke-style steering wheel with paddle shifters, a head-up display, a screen for the digital rearview mirror and gear selector buttons.

The interesting thing is that the central transmission tunnel design is almost nodeless and minimalist looks similar to Maserati MC20 sport car.

Suzuki said it will keep an eye on the Group 3 racing version of the VGT, which will “coming soon”.

This Suzuki VGT joins the family of larger Vision Gran Turismo concept models from automakers like PorscheMercedes-Benz, Volkswagen, MazdaSubaru, Mini, Dodge and Bugatti.

As part of the formula, all of these VGT concepts are required to be large two-door touring cars.

Just like the previous VGT concept, the Suzuki VGT has absolutely no chance of being put into production.
