Sunny Edwards Decides Andres Campos To Hold The IBF Flyweight Belt
By: Sean Crose
Chilean flyweight Andres Campos has traveled to England hoping to claim the IBF flyweight title against defending champion Sunny Edwards on Saturday. Edwards not only owns an IBF strap but is also fighting in his hometown, at OVO Arena Wembley in London. However, Campos still confidently led the game. 19-0 Edwards landed well against Campos 15-0 in the first game. The title defender also uses a shy defense in the opening show. Furthermore, Edwards was able to effectively reach his man within the second. Campos moved ahead of the defending champions in the third round. It has proven to be a much better round for challengers.
Both men engaged in close combat in the fourth round. Every fighter performs well. With that in mind, Edwards succeeded in maintaining range in the fifth inning. Issues slow down a bit in season six. By the seventh inning, it was clear that Edwards was controlling much of the tempo of the game, landing well and seemingly at will from the foundation of a solid defence. That defense of Edwards continued to work for the champion in the round of 16. Ninth offers pretty much the same thing.
Campos’ offense looks impressive in season ten. It might not be enough to win the round, but it does make Edwards wary. However, Edwards continued to hit mostly without hitting the target in the eleventh round. The twelfth and final round saw Campos fail to deliver the knock-out he needed to win the match. After the final bell rang, it was not surprising that the judges ruled in favor of Edwards, who had to go home with the IBF belt still in his possession.
