Sulaiman: Rage talks scheduled for this week
World Boxing Council President Mauricio Sulaiman said he will speak with Tyson Fury and his teammates over the next week to find out if the WBC heavyweight champion intends to retire.
After stopping Dillian Whyte for six rounds at Wembley Stadium last month, Fury has reiterated his plans to retire from boxing.
WBC will now be in contact with Fury and his team about whether he plans to fight on or walk away and vacate his heavyweight championship.
“WBC will be in touch with Tyson Fury and his promoters about his future plans over the next week,” WBC president Mauricio Sulaiman told Sky Sports.
“We are ready to support him on whatever he decides to do. If he decides to retire, the WBC will fully support him.
“It is our dream to see boxers retire with such greatness. An undefeated champion, financially protected with a loving family and a great future off the field.
“I am very happy and satisfied if this is his final decision and will fully support him and will stick with him for the rest of his life.”
