It’s time again, Consumer Reports this morning lifted the curtain on the annual 2022 Car Brands ranking and the Top 10 Picks in the Automotive Industry, intersection, and type of truck. Drumroll, please: This year, Subaru climb two places to claim the winner’s circle, coming in third for the past two years. Last year, Mazda increased three positions from 2020 to claim the crown. This year, Mazda slide down second, BMW car takes last place on the ranking, also a drop from 2021. The six automakers in the top 10 hailed from Japan, one more than last year and five. Luxury exports occupy the top 10, two more than last year. And the Korean representative did not make it to the top this year, after Hyundai tenth manager last year. Seven automakers behind BMW are: Honda, Lexus, Audi, Porsche, Mini, Toyota and Infiniti.
The Journal and Test Concern says its Brand Report Card “[reveals] Which automakers are producing the best performing, safest and most reliable vehicles based on? CRindependent testing and member surveys” and “Brands that rise to the top tend to have the most consistent performance across their product lines. “
Domestic companies also took a step back among the 32 OEMs ranked on the 2022 card. Chrysler and Buick were the domestic automakers that broke into the top 10 last year at eighth and ninth, respectively. . This year, Buick dropped to 11th, Chrysler to 13th. Dodge went from fourteenth to sixteenth. CR continues to put Tesla at the helm, the cradle that is not naturally responsible for the electric carmaker from sixteenth last year to twenty-third this year. And problems with Fighter pulled the Jeep down three places to 32nd – last – without leaving Alfa Romeo with that monstrous disease.
In the Top 10 Picks, each winner is selected based on category and purchase price, with the store recognizing the selected models as “best of all”. CRTheir ratings: they perform well in road tests; they come standard with key safety features; and owners say they are reliable and satisfied to drive. “
- Kia Telluride: A three-row midsize SUV has won since hitting the market for “simply doing things well” and posting “nearly perfect road test scores.” [and] top ratings for predicted reliability and owner satisfaction”
- Honda Ridgeline: The compact unibody pickup “is great for commuters, home drivers and weekend warriors, as well as drivers who do it all”
- Lexus RX / RX hybrid: The luxury midsize SUV “continues to be the epitome of this entry-level segment” with its “blend of comfort, performance, safety and reliability”
- Subaru Forester: Listed for the 9th time in a row, praised for “effective, spacious, powerful design energy saving; focus on safety; excellent road test performance; and history of high reliability”
- Toyota Prius / Prius Prime: The Prius shortlisted for its 19th year as it “continues to set the standard for fuel-efficient transportation”
The new people introduced in the list are
- Ford Mustang Mach-E: The electric crossover “stands out for its fun to drive, quick acceleration, nimble handling and good maneuverability”
- Honda Accord / Accord hybrid: “A family sedan for sure [with] ample interior space, a pleasant ride, ample power and impressive performance “could” extend from an economical commuting vehicle to a cautious alternative to luxury car“
- Nissan Sentra: The small car, which has been hailed as “a low-priced sedan that offers high value and feels more premium than its rivals” and the standard Nissan Safety Shield 360 kit
- Nissan Rogue Sport: The compact SUV “feels more mature and substantial than most compact SUVs in its class” and has “comfortably anticipated reliability” and safety systems.
- Toyota RAV4 Prime: An improved two-row SUV compared to the usual RAV4 with “more power, more efficiency, more comfortable ride, more hints in the cabin”
And CR, which won another seat on the green train, further awarded the picks for the lowest emissions of greenhouse gases and other pollutants, namely Ford Mustang Mach-E, Honda fit, Nissan Sentra, Toyota Prius/Prius Primeand Toyota RAV4 Prime. It should also be noted that Mach-E has dethroned Tesla Model 3 as the top electric choice from CR.
