Subaru announced pricing information for 2022 Crosstrek and in 2022 Crosstrek Hybrid. Both models cost more than the 2021 version, although the increase is relatively small, and the Japanese company also increased the mandatory destination fee.
Buyers have four trim levels to choose from, namely Base, Premium, Sport, and Limited. Prices for the base model – standard with a six-speed manual transmission – start at $22,445, up $200 compared to 2021. However, the destination fee increased from $1,050 to $1,125, so the cost of an entry-level Crosstrek in 2022 comes to $23,570 ($275 more than in 2021). Buyers who replace the connecting rod with a continuously variable transmission (CVT) will need to spend $24,920 including destination.
Going up, the Premium starts at $24,720 with the six-speed manual transmission and $26,070 with the CVT, up $375. Next, the Sport is priced at $27,545 while the Limited is priced at $29,045. Both trim levels are available with only two pedals. Finally, the Crosstrek Hybrid starts at $36,770 for 2022, up $375 compared to 2021 once more expensive destination charges come into the equation.
Several standalone options and optional packages are available for the 2022 model year. For example, Subaru charges Premium buyers $1,995 for an equipment package that includes a sunroof, keyless entry with push-button start power steering, electrically adjustable driver’s seat and blind-spot detection technology with rear cross-traffic alert. Moonroof is a $1,000 option when ordered separately.
Subaru made no mechanical changes for 2022; it added a bigger and more powerful engine to scope for 2021. Base and high-end models are powered by a 2.0-liter four-cylinder making 152 horsepower and 145 pound-feet of torque, while the Sport and Limited get a tuned 2.5-liter engine. 182 and 176 respectively. Permanent four-wheel drive is standard regardless of engine movement.
Dealers across the US will begin accepting the Crosstrek 2022 and Crosstrek Hybrid 2022 in the first quarter of 2022.
