To describe Argentina The capital of Buenos Aires is busy is an understatement. The 78-square-mile city has a population of more than three million, with more than 15 million occupying the larger metropolitan area. As you might expect, motorbikes can be a fun way to get around such densely populated areas—especially the very nimble, small displacement bikes that can cut through the streets. crowded city.

That’s exactly what we’re looking at today; a custom BMW G310R street tracking made to commute, from the team at STG Tracker in Buenos Aires.

Made by TVS in India for BMW, the G310R is the smallest bike in the German brand’s arsenal. Its single-cylinder mill produces 33.6 hp and 28 Nm—great for city walks. The classic car borrows styling from BMW’s larger naked bikes, but this one has been completely transformed by STG.

Although the sponsor’s bike is only 500 km [310 miles] on the watch, it’s not a completely blank canvas. Another workshop has already started working on it, but the client put the project on hold and brought it to STG instead.

The team had previously fabricated the custom carbon fiber tank cover and tail section. But while customers were happy with the overall design, nothing was as consistent as it should be. Shop owner Marcelo Obarrio kicked things off by building a new gas tank that sits under the lid, then crafting new mounting tabs on the frame to attach everything.

BMW’s standard bodywork is angular and sporty—but the custom bodywork softens those rough lines, while maintaining just the right amount of angularity. Finished with select parts from Driven Racing in the USA, it is certainly fit for purpose.

Next, Marcelo turned his attention to the rear of the car. The existing tail unit has been put in place, with a new subframe built to match it. Seat cover in new Alcantara, with hexagonal stitching to match the air intake grille at the front of the fuel tank.

Hidden beneath the saddle is the Motogadget controller, while the battery is now under the swingarm. The barely noticeable turn signals are also from Motogadget, while the taillights are integrated into the rear end for a sleek, factory look.

Stacked headlights bolted to a custom CNC aluminum bracket, STG chose to reuse the original panel. We’re getting a bit of an insect vibe from the front end—especially with the subtle honeycomb pattern on the fuel tank cap.

The original front fender has been reshaped like what you see here, but the upper fork yoke is custom. A set of carbon fiber bars from Driven Racing are bolted to the raised bars for the most upright riding position possible. They are covered by Motogadget grips, mirrors and gearshift levers.

One of the G310R’s most notable features is the ‘reverse’ cylinder head; The intake port is cleverly placed behind the radiator with the exhaust port at the rear. BMW claims that this moves some weight to the rear to improve agility, which, if true, is perfect for a street watcher.

To make this party more visible and improve performance, STG has fitted a custom-built stainless steel exhaust. It stands out nicely against the black engine and rear shock absorbers, and probably sounds great.

To give customers more confidence on rough terrain (and to complete the track’s look), a pair of Continental TKC70 tires were fitted. Carbon fiber sprocket covers and adjustable rear swingarm from Driven Racing USA complete the parts list.

Eye-catching paint colors designed and ordered by the talented Ale Minissale. “He had complete freedom to design, inspired by BMW racing cars, and he finished it.” Marcelo said. “You can either love it or hate it!”
