A street cat in Turkey had a loving moment when a street sweeper took the time of the day to stop and play.
An anonymous person captured the moment and shared it with ViralHog. They explained that they were drinking coffee in downtown Istanbul at a place directly across from Kedili Park, also known as Cat Park.
They said, “There are usually a lot of great moments in this activity, but this time it was especially cute.”
They went on to explain that while enjoying their break, they witnessed a street sweeper stopping his busy day to care for a gray cat with his broom. The cat jumped on the broom and played, clearly enjoying the attention.
The person who shared the video said: “It was heartwarming so I just had to record it.” They added that while the cat appeared to walk away at the end of the video, after the camera stopped rolling, the cat actually returned to spend more time with the street sweeper.
Looks like the cat and the sweeper are friends, so sweet!
Unlike many street cats, Istanbul street cats are known for being friendly. Irish Times report that Istanbul street cats “are wild, but they don’t behave like wild animals. Instead, they co-exist peacefully alongside the people of Istanbul.”
The moment shared between the worker and the feral cat shows how gentle and loving the city’s feral cats are. They are part of what makes Istanbul the city it is today. They are part of the soul and heartbeat of the city.
