Street Dog With Terrible Mange Spends Months Recovering

Every animal should have a loving home to call their own name. Sadly, not every animal’s life begins that way.

For one dog, Scamper, his life begins as a stray on the street. But he was also affected quite badly – his skin was severely infected.

He looked pretty awful, but luckily for him, some neighbors in the area where he survived decided they needed to contact someone for help.

That’s when they got it Unlimited Animal Aid, ask them to come and rescue the little dog. Rescuers immediately set out to assist the dog in distress.

It became clear that when they arrived at the scene, the dog was in dire need of help. His body was so bad and he was so weak, he just lay there, curled up. But no matter how bad he felt, he knew that those who approached him were there to help, so he tried to wag his tail very weakly at them.

They took Scamper to the vet for treatment, where his skin condition was diagnosed as ringworm – but a very serious form of it. In fact, it had progressed to the point where it was starting to threaten his life and he had to start treatment right away. Scamper was given a medicated bath.

Over the following weeks, he began to feel better and look better, and as a result, his sweet and playful personality began to emerge more and more.

It’s incredible what some tender loving care can do to help an animal heal completely. Now, it’s hard to recognize the playful dog as the sad one with mange who started receiving treatment just a few months earlier.
